De-Googling

Google is spyware. Everything you do, everything you search, everything you see, is all tracked by Google, which then sells all of your information to data brokers. De-Googling is the act of deliberately using alternatives to Google services. This may seem like an impossible task, and can be quite overwhelming and almost impossible to 100% break away from. But that does not mean that some De-Googling is not beneficial.

Step One: Browser & Search Engine

De-Googling begins with one's browser, which is automatically Chrome on most devices. A much better alternative is Firefox with privacy-focused modifications (ADD PAGE). Firefox automatically uses Google as its search engine, which can easily be switched to a more privacy-focues search engine, such as DuckDuckGo.

Step Two: Email & Drive

One can use a seperate email service like Proton Mail, which also comes with its own drive service. One account on a free plan gets 2 GB of storage. However, within 30 days of signing up, one can earn 3 GB more by uploading a file, creating a shareable link, and adding a recovery method to his account.

Step Three: Accounts

This may be one of the most difficult and laborious tasks, where one must manually change their accounts to no longer use Gmail. This may lead to loss of some information, and it may not be possible for one to replace every account with a seperate Email.
